"A pair of nail or toenail clippers from the dollar store costs $1. Because they have a lever action, they can cut braid and thicker line much more easily than nippers (I fish for Pike and Muskie). The nail clippers do sink to the bottom of the river at a slightly faster rate than the Simms nippers if you drop them because they are 100% stainless steel rather than cheap aluminum, but since I bought 70 pairs, I just pull another one out of my bag. . . Also the Simms nipper blades are always open and the pointy corners of the blades catch on everything if you have them on a lanyard swinging around. really can mess up your $400 Simms UV protecting fishing shirt (unless you got a shirt at Old Navy like a sane person, then your $10 performance fabric shirt). Or save your shirt and your money and get some nail clippers instead."

"Very sharp! Light weight an anti slip is nice."
