Wading Boot Size Chart

Use your regular street shoe size when ordering wading boots - Simms wading boots are designed to accomodate the neoprene stockingfoot of the typical wader.

If you are a half size, then you should size up to the next full size. Women should size down for men's wading boots (ie: a women's USA shoe size 8 would take a men's wading boot size 7).

Here are some general guidelines for selecting what's best for your wading needs:

  • Cleats offer a larger surface area for overall slip resistance and are suitable for Vibram or rubber outsoles. Simms offers Alumabite (softer, molds better) and Hardbite (carbide construction, more durable with textured overlays for penetration) cleats.
  • Studs are recommended for slippery moss, algae, or slime as they penetrate the material to grip the substrate beneath. They are also the only option for felt outsoles. Simms provides studs specific to rubber/Vibram and felt outsoles.

"I was looking for a light and durable wading boot that could withstand a lot of wading in the coral reefs of the French Polynesian Islands. "I love the flyweight boots from the past but extreme heavy use seemed to beat them up slightly faster than normal. At least the older version. This boot is so damn light but feels as durable as the G3 boot. Great ankle support as well. Great to see a boot that has both and not just one or the other. "I've been wearing the Men's Simms Access Wading Boot for nearly three months and have logged hungreds of miles and thousands of steps in them. I typically walk 6-8 miles a day while guiding and these shoes are perfect for what I do. They are light weight, durable, and well designed. Gummy center grabs well

"Per usual simms makes the new new super cool. That gummy center is fantastic for gripping the clay on the outsides of our gravel bottoms for added stealth, and less slip. Stupid light, and I like the just higher ankle for some support without going full on like the winter season stocking options… but no doubt these are a staple for wet wade applications and they are lighter then converse all stars. ."
