For some, fishing is a pastime. Others, it’s a casual hobby. For us, and most likely anybody that’s reading this — fishing is a way of life. If you fall into the latter classification, you already get it — for folks like us, getting on the water isn’t an occasional activity — it’s an absolute necessity.

 

Simms Pro, Luke Ronnestrand realized many years ago that he was going to have to come up with a way to fulfill a very real need — to be on the water as often as he possibly could. This is the number one reason he started guiding and continues to do so to this day.

 

I can remember the moment that I decided I wanted to do it. It was on Lake Mille Lacs, I was 19 years old. I came out of Macs Twin Bay, it was a dark, overcast, eerie looking day. I realized right then and there, I’ve got to figure out how to do this every day. I feel like it was in that moment that I figured out my mission statement in life.” ~Simms Pro, Luke Ronnestrand
